Privacy Policy

Cadence ("we," "our," or "the app") is a speech fluency tool that helps you speak with clarity and confidence. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and how you can control it.

What We Collect

When you use Cadence, we collect the following:

• Audio recordings — Captured on-device when you record a speaking session. Sent to our servers for analysis only.
• Name and email address — Provided when you sign in with Google or Apple.
• User ID — A unique identifier created when your account is set up.
• Usage data — Session counts, fluency scores, and streak information used to track your progress.

How Audio Is Handled

Your audio is encrypted on-device before being sent to our servers. Once there, it is processed by our speech recognition model to detect filler words and generate your fluency score. Audio is never stored on our servers. It is processed in memory and discarded immediately after analysis completes.

On-Device Storage

Session results (transcripts, scores, and filler word data) are stored locally on your device, encrypted with AES-256-GCM. The encryption key is managed by the iOS Keychain and never leaves your device. No session content is stored on our servers.

Authentication

Cadence supports sign-in with Google (OAuth 2.0) and Apple Sign-In. We receive your name and email from these providers to create your account. We do not access your contacts, calendar, or any other data from these services.

Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services:

• Google OAuth — For account sign-in. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.
• Apple Sign-In — For account sign-in. Subject to Apple's Privacy Policy.

We do not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services.

No Tracking

Cadence does not track you across other apps or websites. We do not share your data with advertisers. We do not use third-party analytics SDKs. Usage data is collected solely for your in-app progress tracking.

Data Deletion

You can delete your account and all associated data at any time from the Profile tab in the app. When you delete your account:

• Your user record, authentication tokens, and progress data are permanently removed from our servers.
• On-device session data is cleared from your device.

Data Security

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS. Audio is encrypted on-device before transmission. Session data is encrypted at rest on your device using AES-256-GCM with a Keychain-managed key. Server-side data is stored in an encrypted database volume.

Children's Privacy

Cadence is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe we have collected such information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will notify you through the app. The effective date at the top of this page indicates when the policy was last updated.
