Cadence vs Yoodli

Updated October 13, 2026 · By Simón Rendón, founder of Cadence

Yoodli and Cadence solve different problems. Yoodli is an AI roleplay coach that runs in your browser and alongside video calls, built mainly for sales and training teams. Cadence is a speech practice app for your phone: a few minutes a day, every filler word counted, and your audio never kept.

I make Cadence, so weigh this accordingly. Every claim about Yoodli below comes from Yoodli’s own pricing page, FAQ, or privacy policy, checked on October 13, 2026, and linked at the end.

Privacy is the biggest difference

Practicing out loud means recording yourself at your least polished. Where those recordings end up, and what they are used for, should not depend on which plan you pay for.

Cadence encrypts your audio on your phone before it is uploaded, analyzes it in memory, and discards it as soon as the analysis finishes. Your audio is never stored on our servers and never used to train AI models, on the free plan or on Premium, with no setting to find. On iPhone, an encrypted copy stays on your device so you can replay a session, and you can delete your recordings from your profile at any time. The finished results are held on our servers for up to 24 hours so they can reach your phone, then deleted.

Yoodli’s FAQ says your data “is stored on secure Google servers and you can ask to have it deleted any time.” Its pricing page says that on the free Starter and paid Pro plans, “session data may be used to improve the platform,” while on Advanced, Team, and Enterprise plans “your roleplay data is excluded from AI training by default.” Its privacy policy adds that you can opt out of that use in your profile settings.

Where Yoodli is stronger

  • AI roleplay. Yoodli lets you rehearse a specific conversation, such as a sales call, an interview, or a pitch, against an AI that talks back. Cadence does not simulate the other side of the conversation.
  • Feedback where you already talk. Yoodli works alongside video calls on Zoom, Teams, Webex, and others. Cadence is for practice sessions, not live meetings.
  • Teams. Yoodli is built to be bought by a company, with team and enterprise plans for sales and training programs.

Where Cadence is stronger

  • A free plan you can live on. Three analyzed sessions every day, with no time limit, against five sessions in total on Yoodli’s Starter plan.
  • Privacy on every plan. Audio encrypted before upload, never stored, never used for training, and the only copy of a recording lives on your phone.
  • Built for your phone. Native iPhone and Android apps, made for five minutes on a commute or before a meeting.
  • Focus. Cadence does one thing: it counts your fillers (um, uh, and like, so, or you know when they are used as fillers), marks them on your transcript, and tracks the rate week over week.

Which should you pick?

Pick Yoodli if you want to rehearse a specific high-stakes conversation against an AI that talks back, or if your company is buying for a team. Pick Cadence if you want a few minutes of practice a day on your phone, for free, without your recordings being kept.

If you are deciding between more than these two, the best app to stop saying um covers what to look for in any of them.

Common questions

Is Yoodli free?

Yoodli’s Starter plan is free and includes five sessions in total. Its paid plans start at $8 a month billed annually. Cadence’s free plan includes three analyzed sessions every day with no time limit. Prices as of October 2026.

Does Yoodli use my recordings to train its AI?

Yoodli’s pricing page says that on its Starter and Pro plans, session data may be used to improve the platform, and that Advanced, Team, and Enterprise plans exclude roleplay data from AI training by default. Its privacy policy describes an opt-out in your profile settings. Cadence never uses your recordings to train AI models, on any plan, with nothing to switch off.

What is a Yoodli alternative for practicing on my phone?

Cadence is a speech practice app for iPhone and Android. You record a few minutes of speech, see every filler word marked on your transcript, and track your filler rate over time. It is free for three sessions a day, and your audio is never stored on its servers.
